ā€œSo pleased to have collaborated with these legends.. a huge influence on our music.. the moment we heard Lolā€™s and Pearlā€™s instrumentation on the song I was amazed how Curesque it sounded! Youā€™ve got 50% of the original and classic Cure lineup right thereā€¦ sounds brilliantā€ ā€“ Mark Gemini Thwaite

ā€œAs a long time fan of The Cure, it is a true blessing to have Lol and Pearl add their magic to my favourite song on this album. Most grateful indeed!ā€ ā€“ Ashton Nyte

In addition to the remix of ā€œThe Assembly Line,ā€ MGT has also released an accompanying b-side, ā€œAll The Broken Things (Lol Tolhurst Remix).ā€ Tolhurst adds, ā€œI loved remixing ā€œBroken Things,ā€ such a beautiful track!ā€

MGT’s cover of ABBA classic ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ with Ville Valo of HIM was released as a single on SPV records back in April this year, with an accompanying video shot & directed by noted videographer Ville Juurikkala.. now 6 months later the video has now surpassed over ONE MILLION views! We’d both like to take this opportunity to thank all of the fans out there for enjoying the video and for buying the single and the MGT ‘Volumes’ album, which also features the full length version, given a dark brooding hard rock twist by Thwaite & Valo!

“Iā€™d had an inspiration to record a dark and brooding version of ā€˜Knowing Me Knowing Youā€™ a few years ago.. the solo album was in the works during last summer, so I recorded the music for it, lovingly reconstructing the parts and melodies based on the ABBA version, and then sent the completed music demo to Ville, who came back with his fantastic vocals, perfect for the song..” Mark Gemini Thwaite

Renowned US boutique guitar pedal company ProTone Pedals have teamed up with guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, announcing their latest addition to their signature artist roster.. the MGT Dirty Chorus is a tweaked out evolution of the Raven Dirty Chorus, only this handwired version is optimized for guitar frequencies with an overhauled amp-like drive circuit, making it all his own.

MGT – known for his work with the likes of goth rockers like The Mission and Peter Murphy, Trip Hop svengali Tricky, classic rock & rollers like Thin Lizzyā€™s Ricky Warwick and The Whoā€™s Roger Daltrey, and known in industrial circles for his collaborations with Revolting Cocks and Gary Numan, had this to say:

“My friend the late Paul Raven of Killing Joke came up with the original concept of the Raven Dirty Chorus back in 2007 – while we were working on the Mob Research debut album – and almost a decade since his untimely passing, I’m proud to announce the relaunch of this brilliant pedal with a few MGT refinements and an updated circuit! Thanks to Protone for making this dream a reality”

Peter Murphy has announced the Mr. Moonlight Tour, celebrating 35 years of Bauhaus. Murphy, who has started working with producer Youth (Killing Joke, The Verve) on the follow up to his 2011 critically acclaimed solo effort, NINTH- which also featured MarkGT on guitars – will spend three months touring North America and Europe with a full band including MGT, drummer Nick Lucero and bassist Zef Noise performing only Bauhaus material.

PeterMurphy_MGT_Mayan1

Says Peter, ā€œSince 2006, I have included my Bauhaus work into my solo work as a way of tipping my hat to my own audienceā€¦those who discovered my early work as well as new and old fans of those years strong wishes to hear the music of my band crackle and spark in the live arena. Being the foremost advocate of this Bauhaus work, I decided the time was ripe to at last give a pure Bauhaus experience in one Mr. Moonlight world tour. Mr. Moonlight is alive and well, don’t doubt it.ā€

Bauhaus formed in 1978 and achieved worldwide cult status that continues to this day. The band originally split in 1983, but eventually bowed to public pressure to reform in 1998 and again in 2005. The Mr. Moonlight Tour will be the first time since 2006 that Peter Murphy will perform full Bauhaus sets, and the first time ever that he will do so on his own – with long time guitarist MGT at his side.
