Following the release of the first PR EP ‘Long in the Tooth’ featuring a collaboration with <PIG> featuring Raymond Watts and MGT, which recently debuted at No.1 in the Amazon hot new releases chart, the industrial collective Primitive Race has released a music video for “Follow the Leader” from the forthcoming debut album, making its debut on New Noise Magazine [click here], featuring lyrics and vocals by Graham Crabb of Pop Will Eat Itself; also appearing on the track are Erie Loch (Blowload, Exageist), Chris Kniker. and Mark Gemini Thwaite (Peter Murphy, The Mission, Mob Research).

Directed by Dustin Ferguson, vocalist Crabbi of PWEI  had to say of the song, “‘Follow the Leader’ is more about the dumb people that follow our leaders, unquestioning and and without thought, than the leaders themselves”… “We get what we deserve when we bring kids through a system without a grasp of the fundamentals of modern life.”

You can also check out a video Q&A with guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite here:

Conceived by bassist, impresario and Lords Of Acid manager/executive producer Chris Kniker; ‘Primitive Race’ features regular appearances from Crabb, Loch and MGT, and is joined by an all-star cast of contributors on the album including Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry, Danzig), Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Jackalope), Kourtney Klein (Combichrist, Nitzer Ebb), Mark “3KSK” Brooks (Warlock Pinchers, Foreskin 500), Josh Bradford (RevCo, Stayte, Simple Shelter), Andi Sex Gang (Sex Gang Children) and more!

October brings not one but two MGT remixes for your aural and visual sensory pleasure… firstly the long awaited Sex Gang Children‘Hollywood Slim’ MGT remix, released on 1st October for digital download via the bands website here:

Hollywood Slim MGT remix

SGC formed in England in the early 1980’s, with frontman Andi Sex gang considered one of the founding fathers of the gothic rock scene.. their album Song and Legend was released in 1983 (debuting at #1 in the UK indie charts). 30 years later, the latest SGC album ‘Viva Vigilante!‘ -from which Hollywood Slim is taken – also features a mix of ‘Death Squad Diva’ by MGT.Check out the new SGC video for the single below..

October also sees the debut of the Erica Nockalls vs MGT ‘Cut Them Out’ Bodyrokk remix, where Mark deconstructed and recreates last years CTO single (taken from the ‘Imminent Room debut album by EN) in a harder electrodancefloor guitar driven direction, complete with new expanded video below. Erica is best known for her fiddle playing as part of UK band The Wonder Stuff.

Erica Nockalls vs MGT: ‘Cut Them Out’ BodyRokk remix:

marchviolets2014tourSince I chose to leave Peter Murphy‘s band last September over personal differences, things have been quiet on the live front but all of that is to change soon, as my friends The March Violets will be touring the USA in June and I’ll be joining them onstage for a few songs at the San Diego and Los Angeles shows.

You may recall The Violets reformed in 2007 and released ‘Made Glorious’ last year, their first full album in many years. The limited edition 2xCD includes the ‘Dandelion King’ MGT remix (check out free Soundcloud download below). The Violets were part of the seminal UK goth scene in the early 80’s and were labelmates to The Sisters of Mercy on Merciful Release. Frontman Si Denbigh later toured with the Sisters on numerous tours.  More info and tour dates on the March Violets website [here]

In other news, I completed some new remixes for Sex Gang Childrenfor their forthcoming EP, and the band previewed the new video for their forthcoming download single ‘Hollywood Slim (MGT remix)’ at their recent London concert on 24th May – the video was shot in London, Athens and Leipzig. A release date for the single and video is TBC. More news at sexgangchildren.com

Last but not least, also just finished work on Erica Nockall’sforthcoming sophomore album, contributing guitars, various racket and assorted programming to five new songs on the album. It’s Sounding great so watch this space! EN is the fiddle player from UK band The Wonder Stuff and a solo artist in her own right.
